Pandemic Greenfield Manufacturing Facility

This major CDMO client hired PROTECS to complete the design and construction of a 156,000-square-foot facility for the Department of Defense (DOD). The $127 million project is a new pandemic greenfield building that has three floors, plus a penthouse. The project consisted of incoming sampling/dispensing, two liquid vial filling lines, two lyophilization areas, compounding area, parts wash and autoclave area, cold rooms storage, freezer room, IT/data room, automated vial inspection line, lab area, cGMP warehouse, WIP storage, locker/gowning, administration, café, cafeteria, and mechanical/process support spaces. The new building also required new HVAC, compressor, chilled water, DI water, WFI systems, clean steam, N2 distribution system, waste handling, and emergency power systems (UPS).
